Installation and connection methods of composite pipes

Clamp-on Installation: Clamp-on installation uses pipe clamps, along with tools such as raw hemp rope, pipe expanders, and wrenches to connect the pipes and fittings. This method is heavily reliant on manual labor and may require repeated adjustments during installation. Additionally, clamp-on installation is used when the pipes and fittings are made of different materials; due to their different coefficients of thermal expansion, leaks may occur when hot and cold water are used alternately.

Thermofusion Installation: Thermofusion installation utilizes the fusible properties of thermoplastic pipes for pipe connections. Specialized heating equipment is used to melt the joint surfaces of pipes and fittings made of the same material, then they are pressed together manually or mechanically. This method results in a tight, safe, and durable bond, preventing leaks, drips, and other water seepage at metal pipe joints.

Electrofusion connection is an electrofusion fitting made by embedding a resistance wire in the fitting. During installation in a confined space, the plug of the welding instrument is connected to the socket of the fitting. Combined with timing methods such as a digital timer and installation indicator holes, the heating element inside the fitting melts the outer plastic layer and the inner plastic layer of the fitting.
