Although metal hoses are compressible and stretchable, they will break quickly and have a reduced lifespan if not installed correctly.

 

Hose can be installed horizontally, vertically, or at an angle, with vertical installation being ideal. Installation near wheels should be avoided; a baffle can be added if necessary.

Generally, metal hoses can be classified into three lengths: the first is the compressed length, which is the length when the hose is compressed to its limit; the second is the installation length, which is the length of the hose at half its maximum displacement; and the third is the stretched length, which is the length of the hose when stretched to its maximum limit.

 

When installing a hose, it should be in the middle position, i.e., the installation length. In this position, the hose can move in two directions under axial load. If it can only move in one direction, the strength of the metal hose will be affected, reducing its lifespan.

 

In actual installation, considering that measuring the hose length with a ruler according to calculations might affect production efficiency, some foreign manufacturers attach the ruler directly to the hose and cut it off after installation.

 

When selecting metal flexible hoses, choose those with a loose flange at one end for ease of installation.

 

When performing electric welding on site, protect the surface of the metal flexible hose to prevent weld slag and arc burns.

 

Twisting of the metal flexible hose is strictly prohibited.

 

Bending along the base of the metal flexible hose is not allowed, and there should be no sharp bends.

 

The medium flowing through the hose must not be corrosive to the bellows material, and the chloride ion content in the medium should be ≤25 PPM.

 

Mechanical damage to the flange sealing surface is strictly prohibited.
